An angler in Texas snagged a bizarre-looking sea creature that turned out to be a venomous denizen of the deep. The strange catch was reportedly made by Alyssa Ramirez while she and her mother were fishing on a pier in the coastal city of Port Isabel. Adding an almost alien-like element to the oddity's appearance, it was still alive when Ramirez reeled it in and, as such, was undulating in a mesmerizing fashion on the pier, She decided to record footage of the creature and send it off to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in the hopes that they could identify it. Mystery surrounds the sizeable remains of a mysterious sea creature that washed up on a Scottish beach during Storm Ciara. A diver encounters a ghostly ‘fish’ that’s almost totally transparent in mind-blowing new dive footage. Raniero Borg, who discovered the bizarre creature near Marsalforn, Malta, said he’d never seen anything like it in 40 years of diving. “It looked like a miniature jelly whale or dolphin,” he said. “It had a large mouth and you could see its gut as its body was transparent. It was approx 30cm in length and around 15cm wide. “Its spinal cord and rib-like features showed too. “I was very curious about it. Sailors capture moment as they travel through pumice field: The crew spent about six hours sailing through a massive raft of volcanic rock. One of the sailors wrote: “It was like ploughing through a field. We figured the pumice was at least six inches thick.” Other sailors in the same area described “rubble slick made up of rocks from marble to basketball size such that water was not visible”. The floating raft emerged as a result of an underwater volcano eruption in the Pacific Ocean. It is currently drifting towards the east coast of Australia.
