A man suspected of burglary in the city of Silver Spring, Maryland, has jumped over a 12-foot wall (approximately 4 meter in conversion), according to the local Montgomery County police.
The 56-year-old man, named Steven Anderson, did this not only once, but twice, in his attempt to evade the police officers chasing him. His first jump over the 12-foot wall was successful, however, upon encountering more police officers on the other side of the wall, he allegedly decided to "jump back over", hence attempting the 12-foot jump twice.
According to the local newspaper, "the world high-jump record is just over 8-feet (2.4-meters)".
It is believed that some people can develop unnaturally strong abilities within a short period of time when trying to overcome a particular situation, be it danger or escapism.
