In four billion years' time Earth will be swallowed by Andromeda galaxy as it develops in the Milky Way

Our own Milky Way galaxy is on a collision course and could be destroyed. The Milky Way will one day be cannibalised by the neighbouring Andromeda galaxy, which has been gobbling up smaller star systems for billions of years.

Scientists have mapped the Andromeda, which is twice the size of our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and found remnants of other galaxies floating inside it.

They predict it will be four billion years before the Earth and surrounding planets are consumed by their giant neighbour.

It Rains Liquid Iron On This Planet

Scientists detect an exotic planet in another solar system where the weather forecast is always dire - a 100 percent chance of the most outrageous rain imaginable, with droplets of scaldingly hot liquid iron.
